     GRANDMA SCHMEILDER’S RAISED DOUGHNUTS

Ingredients
1 pkg. yeast
1-1/4 c. warm water
1 c. milk (scald and cool)
2 eggs, beaten
2/3 c. soft butter
3/4 c. sugar salt to taste
7 c. flour (more or less)
 

Instructions
Dissolve yeast in water. Add milk. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and salt. Add to yeast mixture and stir. Add flour gradually and knead until smooth. Let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and roll out dough and cut with doughnut cutter. Let rise until ready to fry. Makes about 5 dozen doughnuts.
