     JEAN’S TAILGATE BEANS

Ingredients
1 can kidney beans
1 can butter beans
2 or 3 cans baked beans
1 can pinto beans (or chili beans)
3 cans green beans (not French cut)
½ lb. bacon
1 onion, chopped fine
¾ c. ketchup
2 hot peppers, chopped fine (or use 1 Tbs. red pepper flakes)
 
1/3 c. brown sugar

Instructions
Brown bacon, drain and crumble. In remaining bacon fat sauté onion and peppers until clear/soft. Drain all beans and place in slow cooker. Add bacon, onion/pepper/bacon fat, ketchup and brown sugar to the beans and stir gently. Cook on low for 4-6 hours and serve with slotted spoon. This may also be cooked in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour. I sometimes mix it together one day and cook it the next.
