     Pear Pickles

Ingredients
7 lbs pears, peeled and cut
3 1/2 lbs sugar
1 pt vinegar
1/2 tsp oil of cloves
1/2 tsp oil of cinnamon
 

Instructions
Boil pears in clear water until tender. Drain. Bring sugar, vinegar and oils to a boil and boil for 10 minutes. Pour over pears. Weigh down and leave overnight to plump. Drain pears from syrup. bring syrup to a boil and pour over pears. Stand overnight. 3rd morning-bring fruit and syrup to a full boil and seal in sterile jars.
