     Apple Crisp

Ingredients
Apple Mixture
10 c. of apples, peeled and slice
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 T lemon zest
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c golden raisins (if desired)
Topping Mixture
1 1/2 sticks of butter
1 1/4 c all purpose flour
 
1 1/2 c oats
2 T lemon zest
1 T cinnamon
1 t nutmeg
1 t cardamom
Vegetable oil or spray

Instructions
Combine all of the ingredients for the apple mixture in a bowl.
In another bowl, cut the butter into the flour and stir in the remaining topping ingredients.
Spray a pan with cooking spray or wipe with vegetable oil.
Spread apple mixture on the bottom of the pan. Top with the topping mixture. Bake at 350 until the apples are bubbling and the topping is browned. This can be cooked in a campfire/grill in a Dutch oven by using 8 coals under the pan and 16 on the lid.
Serving Suggestions
Warm with vanilla ice cream or cool with whipped cream
