     KIT’S POTLUCK PASTA SOUP

Ingredients
1 ½ lb. hamburger
2 qts. water
2 cans (14-1/2 can) Italian stewed tomatoes
2 c. diced carrots
1 ½ c. diced celery
1 c. chopped onion
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 Tbs. sugar
 
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 bay leaves
½ tsp. pepper
3 c. cooked elbow macaroni
½ c. chopped green pepper
1 can (15 oz.) garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained

Instructions
In a soup kettle or Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add water, tomatoes, carrots, celery, onion, tomato sauce, soup mix and seasonings; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour. Stir in macaroni, beans and green pepper; heat through. Discard bay leaves before serving. Yields- 20 servings (5 quarts)
