     Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
2 Granny Smith apples
2 Cans Crescent rolls
1 Cup butter
1 1/2 Cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
One 12 oz. can mountain dew (I used ginger ale)
Cinnamon to taste
 

Instructions
Peel, core, and slice apples, each apple into 8 slices. Wrap each apple in a crescent roll, beginning at the wide end and place rolls seam side down in buttered 8 x 10 pan. (I used 9 x 13). Melt butter in saucepan over low heat and add sugar and vanilla. No need to dissolve sugar, you want mixture grainy. Pour mixture evenly over rolls. Next, pour soda over rolls, It will look weird! Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake 350 for 40 minutes or til golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Can substitute Sprite for soda as well.
