Add cinnamon to flour and sift. Cream butter and sugar until light and soft. Beat in 1 egg and 1 tbsp flour, then beat in another egg. Repeat once more, then add in 2/3 of the remaining flour.
Stir in the milk then fold in the last of the flour.
Grease a 8x11 baking dish and pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Spread half of the batter on the bottom of the dish. Then add apple slices then cover with remaining batter
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes then reduce to 325 and continue to bake for another 30 min.
