Cream butter, then add sugar and cream well. Add egg, cream and vanilla. Beat well.
Blend in dry ingredients gradually, then chill dough 1 hour.
Roll out dough on floured surface, 1/3 at a time, to 1/8-inch thickness (can be a little thicker). Cut into desired shapes and bake on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400 for 5-8 minutes.
EGG YOLK PAINT- Beat one egg yolk with enough food coloring to get desired intensity. Paint on cookies with paint brush. If thickens, add drops of water.
