4-6 large potatoes peeled and cubed into 1 inch peices.
4 c. milk
1/2 c heavy cream
1/4 c margarine or 1/2 stick butter (salted)
Instructions
In a large pot, fill halfway with water and 2 Tbsp salt. Boil potatoes until tender. Drain water and return potatoes to pot. With a potato masher, mash approx. 1/2 of the potatoes. Add milk, cream, butter. Return to low heat until butter is melted. Salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, ham, sour cream, chives, green onions, etc.
