Mix water and sugar together and bring to a boil. Boil for 5 mins then add cranberries. Cook until cranberries pop, stirring frequently.
For relish-
after cooking sauce add in 1/4 tsp cinnamon or more to taste, a dash of nutmeg, zest and juice of small orange, small can crushed pineapple, drained, and 1/4 cup chopped nuts.
