     Macaroni & Cheese {childhood}

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
3 tbsp butter
2 cups milk
2 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
dash pepper
chopped onions (or minced onions)
8 oz velveeta or cheddar cheese
chopped ham (optional)
 

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook Macaroni in boiling salt water according to package directions. In saucepan melt butter. Saute chopped onions in butter. Add milk, four, salt and pepper. Whisk together. Slowly add cheese. Stir slowly and continuously until melted so it wont burn. Mix noodles, sauce and chopped ham. Bake in 8x8 pan at 350 degrees for 35-40 min. Double recipe for 9x13 pan.
