     Kolmi-No-Patia (shrimp curry)-Parsi recipe

Ingredients
1.5 kg shrimp peeled and deveined (approx 3.3 pounds)
Grind to paste the following-
7 red dry chillies
2 tsp cumin
1 pod garlic
2 onions chopped
------------------------------------
Pinch of turmeric
Oil
 
3 large onions, sliced, fried and crushed
2 - one inch sticks of cinnamon (ground)
3 cloves, ground
The above ingredients can be subsituted with ground garam masala (approx. 1 tsp)
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup water

Instructions
In a pan heat a little oil and fry the ground masala until red in color.
Add the shrimp, salt and turmeric, ground masala, fried onions and some water.
Cook until the shrimp is tender. Add some vinegar and sugar.
Simmer for a few minutes.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with mori dal (recipe available) and white rice or with khichdi.
