     Shoo-Fly Pie (Old Lehigh County Recipe)

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 cup firmly packed Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Butter
1/2 cup Light Molasses
1/2 cup Hot Water
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
 

Instructions
Combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Set aside. Mix together molasses, water, and baking soda. Divide liquid mixture evenly between 2 pie crusts. Top each pie with half of the crumbly mixture. Bake at 450 F. for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 F. and bake about 20 minutes longer, or until firm.
