Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add banana and beat until well mixed. Sift in dry ingredients a bit at a time beating well between additions. Dough will be sticky. Divide dough into four parts. Put each part on a large piece of waxed paper. Dampen hands and shape dough into long rolls 1-2 inches in diameter. Roll in waxed paper and freeze until firm enough to slice. Cut into 1/2 inch thick slices and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F. for 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool on wire racks. Store airtight.
