     JANE’S GINGERSNAPS

Ingredients
3/4 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. light molasses
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg beaten
1 tsp. ground cloves
2 c. sifted flour
 
1 1/4 tsp. ginger

Instructions
Cream shortening and sugar, add molasses and egg. Beat well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Roll dough into 1 inch balls, dip into granulated sugar. Place balls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
