     Homemade Granola Bars

Ingredients
1/3 cup brown sugar (2/3 cups)
2/3 cup peanut butter (1 1/3 cups)
3/4 cup honey (1 1/2 cups)
2 T hot water (4 T)
2 tsp vanilla (4 tsp)
2 1/2 cups rolled oats (5 cups)
1 cup whole-wheat flour (2 cups)
1/4 cup wheat germ (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup chopped nuts or sunflower seeds (1 cup)
 
1 T sesame seed (2 T)
1/4 cup flax seed, ground (1/2 cup)
1 cup chocolate chips (2 cups) we use dark chocolate
1/4 tsp salt (1/2 tsp)
1/2 cup dried fruit (1 cup)
1/2 cup coconut (1 cup)

Instructions
Mix brown sugar, peanut butter, honey, hot water, vanilla together. In a separate bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, wheat germ, nuts/seeds, flax, salt and coconut. Gradually add to wet ingredients. Mix in chocolate chips and dried fruit. Press into greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Do not overbake. Cut while warm. Remove from pan when cool. May be wrapped individually in plastic wrap and frozen. We just put them all in a freezer bag and store in freezer. Pull out as needed.
