     Beef & Apple Stew

Ingredients
4 tsp. cumin seed
1.5 lbs. lean stew beef , cut into 1 inch cubes
3 TBLS. Flour
1 TBLS. oil
1 can beef broth (14.5 oz.)
1 can Frozen Apple Juice concentrate. 5 oz.
1.5 tsp. thyme
.5 tsp. ground allspice
.5 tsp. black pepper
 
.5 tsp. salt
2 peeled sweet potatoes, cut into 1 inch chunks
2 red apples, peeled, cored. cut into 1.5 inch chunks

Instructions
Heat small skillet on medium heat. Add cumin seed; cook and stir about 2 minutes or until fragrant. Set aside.
Coat meat with flour. Heat oil in large saucepan on medium high heat. Add meat in batches; cook 5 minutes or until browned. Place meat and remaining ingredients in slow cooker; toss to coat well cover.
Cook 7 hours on low or 3.5 hours on high. Thicken with additional flour, if desired.
