Ingredients
1 cup butter - 2 sticks
1 1/2 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon soda with 1 Tablespoon warm water
5 eggs
2 lbs dates chopped
3/4 pound candied cherries
3/4 pound candied pineapple
1 1/2 cup coconut

1 1/2 pounds chopped pecans ( 6 cups)
1 teaspoon vanilla, orange, and lemon extract
1 teaspoon each- cinnamon, cloves, and allspice

Instructions
Mix thoroughly- If needed add small amount of milk at a time. Drop on cookie sheet (heaping teaspoon, flatten with fork) I like to put parchment paper on cookie sheets. bake in 350 degrees oven for 15 minutes or until slightly browned
Most of the time I double the recipe, then bake cookies and divide and freeze for later, usually don't last long. Sister (Carolyn),daughter (Cathy) and I like these cookies. Since they don't seem to last to long seems like others like these cookies
The candied fruit is so expensive I usually try to buy the fruit after Christmas when the fruit is usually half price and the fruit freezes well for at least until next Thanksgiving and I usually buy my fruit after Christmas and buy for half price. The fruit freezes well at least for a year until ready to use for next Thanksgiving and or Christmas. (If I start wanting some of these cookies will make anytime
