Make vinaigrette - whisk together the ingredients with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste until well combined. The soy has a lot of salt so use sparingly.
Make tuna - preheat outdoor grill over moderately high heat. Season tuna generously with kosher salt and ground pepper. Lay tuna on the hot grill and sear 1 minute each side to form a slight crust.
Tuna will be raw in middle with about a 1/4 to 1/8 inch cooked on each side.
Drizzle the cooked tuna with vinaigrette. Serve with slices of avocado. Serve remaining vinaigrette on the side as well.
