Pull the husks from the tomatillos and wash them under cook water until they no longer fell sticky.
Place tomatillos and chile pepper into a saucepan. Bring Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium, simmer until the tomatillos are soft, 10 to 15 minutes. Drain, cool slightly. Using a blender, puree the tomatillos, chili, garlic clove,cilantro (if using) and lime juice until smooth. Add salt to taste.
