     Homemade Mincemeat

Ingredients
225g dark raisins
225g currants
110g sultanas (golden)
1 large firm apple, unpeeled quartered and slice
215g packed light brown sugar
120ml coconut oil instead of suet 110g (optional, found some information and it turns good)
55g candied orange peel chopped
1/2 teaspoon each, cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves and mixed spice.
Zest and juice of lemon
 
Zest and juice of orange
3 tbspoons brandy or whisky

Instructions
Put all ingredients in a pan on low heat, except the brandy or whisky. Let it simmer, till the sugar and the suet dissolve (If you use suet). Now and then stir the mixture. When ready add the 3 tbspoons of brandy or whisky to the mixture and leave it to cool. Meanwhile prepare 3 clean jars. Fill each jar with the mixture, close lid well, and put them in the fridge. Now it's ready to make mince pies --)
