Ingredients
1.5 lbs. of pork sausage
1 small onion, finely chopped
8 slices country white bread
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
8 eggs
1.5 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
salt and pepper
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
 
1/2 soup can milk

Instructions
In 10 inch skillet, cook sausage and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain. Butter bottom of 9X13X2 inch glass baking dish. Line the bottom with 8 slices of bread. Layer meat and cheese over bread, beginning with meat and ending with cheese, until all are used up.
In a large bowl, combine eggs, 1.5 cups of milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper; pour over layers in baking dish. Cover; refrigerate over night.
Heat oven to 300 degrees. In a small bowl, combine soup and 1/2 can of milk; pour over layers. Bake 1.5 hours. Serve hot.
Note- I usually bump the eggs up to an even dozen and use 2 cups of milk and 10 slices of bread. The original recipe used whole slices of bread but I usually cube mine. I also use an 11X13X2 glass baking dish.

Assorted Breakfast breads like pumpkin and banana nut, Pam's Potatoes, Sister Schubert's sausage rolls.
