Mix butter and sugars together well. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until well mixed. Stir in chocolate chips. Form into tablespoon size balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes or until edges just start to brown. Allow to cool a few minutes on the cookie sheet before moving to cooling racks.
