     Caramel Crispix

Ingredients
2 small boxes of Crispix Cereal
2 cups butter
2 cups of brown sugar
1/2 cup Lily White Karo syrup
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Baking soda
 

Instructions
Melt butter in a sauce pan. Add brown sugar and bring to a boil Add Lily White syrup, vanilla and baking soda.
Put cereal in a large bowl then pour mixture over the top and stir. Pour into a brown paper sack. Microwave for two minutes and shake. Microwave again for two minutes and shake. Spread the Crispix onto wax paper and let cool.
Patti changed a few things when she made it. She omitted the baking soda, did partial white sugar (not all brown) and added cashews. She melted the butter, corn syrup, sugars and vanilla and brought it to a boil until the sugar was dissolved, poured over all and mixed well. Then put it in her roaster and baked at 275 F for one hour stirring every 15 minutes.
