Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 tsps. baking powder
1/4 cup brandy or ouzo
1/2 tsp. salt
juice of 1 lemon
oil for deep frying
SYRUP-
1 cup honey & 1 tsp. lemon juice. 1 c, water,
 
Cook until it becomes a syrup.
I use leftover baklava syrup & add about 2 TBSP. honey.

Instructions
Sift flour, baking powder & salt into a large bowl.
Add enough cold water to make a smooth batter (start w/ 1/2 cup), then add lemon juice & brandy.
Heat oil until boiling, then drop spoonfuls of batter into it, 2 or 3 at a time.
When fritters are swollen & lightly brown, remove & drain on paper towels. Heat syrup & pour over loukoumades. Sprinkle w/walnuts & cinnamon.
