Fry onion, celery and bell pepper in bacon or ham drippings. Add garlic, after 5 minutes add white part of green onions, in 10 minutes add green part. After about 10 minutes, add tomatoes. Fry down to no water. Then add okra. Saute. Add water, cook about 1 hour. Then add shrimp and crabs. Add file just before serving.
