Mix soup and broth in crock pot. Add frozen hash browns. Lay cream cheese on top of onions and sprinkle with pepper and salt.
Cook for 4 hrs on high or 6-8 hrs on low. Stir occasionally as it starts to thaw the frozen potatoes - if you are around, if not just stir when you can. Serve with shredded cheese on top or plain.
