Sautee sausage and pepper flakes in pot. Drain fat, refrigerate in a bowl until needed. In the same pan, sautee bacon, onions, and garlic for about 15 minutes. Add water and bouillon and bring to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until soft (about 1/2 hour). Add cream and sausage and bring up to a near simmer. Add kale just before serving. 6 to 8 generous servings
