Ingredients
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups kumquats (about 12 oz), cut crosswise into thin slices
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
 

Instructions
In a medium saucepan bring 1 1/2 cups water plus sugar to boiling, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low; simmer 8 to 10 minutes or until thickened slightly. Add kumquats and cinnamon; cook 45 minutes or until kumquats are softened. Transfer kumquats and syrup to a bowl; cool completely before serving. (Can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 1 week.)
