     Sausage Gravy

Ingredients
1 lb sausage bulk
1 stick margarine (optional)
5 tablespoons flour
4 cups milk
2 teaspoons ground sage
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
smidgen ground red pepper
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
 
2 large cans biscuits

Instructions
Brown and crumble sausage. Remove sausage from pan. Add flour to drippings and let bubble for 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add milk gradually. Blend well. Cook over low heat until thickened. Add meat and seasonings, serve over hot biscuits. Serve with stewed apple or applesauce.
