In the bowl of an electric mixer combine butter, shortening, and
sugars. Mix for 2 minutes. Add in eggs and vanilla and mix for
another 3 minutes on medium speed.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.
Mix the flour mixture in 3 portions into the butter mixture.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Now chill the dough
Once chilled, spread half of the cookie dough on the bottom of
the pan and press it down with your fingers.
Line the dough with mini Heath Bars and pour salted caramel all
over.
Sprinkle remaining cookie dough on top to completely cover the
caramel.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. You want the dough to look golden
brown.
Let cool completely before slicing into- the salted caramel can
get messy!
