     Basic Biscuit

Ingredients
2 cups ap flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp butter, chilled
1 cup buttermilk
 

Instructions
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Toss in butter and grate. Massage the mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs
Make a well in the centre and pour in buttermilk. Knead until combined
Roll out dough to 1 1/2 inch thickness. Use a ruler to create 2 inch squares
Freeze until ready to bake. Brush with butter. Bake for 22 mins at 300F for a hotter oven and 325F for a weaker one. Alternatively, bake at 450F for 10-12 mins.
