Instructions
This is a very free form recipe and is really as
much about the artistic impression you want to
create as it is an actual recipe.
Just select softer cheese that are formed into
rounds and start with the largest round as the
bottom/base layer and in desecending order layer
up to smallest. In between cheese round layers,
use your favorite fruit compotes/preserves and I
also like to use a layer under the base for color
and to help it stay in place. You can also use
toothpicks between layers to keep them in place
if you need extra support and depending on how
many layers you make.
To decorate, use your imagination to push dried and
fresh fruits, nuts, fresh herbs and edible
flowers into the sides of your cheese layers. Roll soft cheese rounds
in dried herbs for flavor and visual appeal. Top
with a fun design of edible decorations.
I like to use a small cake stand/pedestal for my
tower but you can also use a pretty, decorative
platter. Fill out below/around the base with
crackers and fresh fruit and grapes. TA-DA!
