1. Preheat oven to 350
2. sift together first 4 ingredients
3. add shortening and 3/4 c liquid. Blend for 2
minutes on low, then 2 minutes on medium
4. add the egg whites, rest of liquid and vanilla,
beat 2 minutes
5. bake 30-35 minutes
