     Lemon Chiffon Cake

2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup oil
2 eggs, separated, unbeaten
3/4 cup cold water
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 325 1. combine everything except whites in large bowl and beat until smooth
2. beat whites until stiff, fold into the other ingredients
3. pour into ungreased pan and bake for 50-55 minutes and cool for 15 minutes 4. Turn onto flat plate and loosen with knife and turn out of pan
