In bowl toss beef with flour ,dry gravy mix and
salt and pepper. Heat 2 tbl oil in pan over md
heat. add half of beef, cook turning until
browned 5 minutes. transfer to bowl and repeat.
season meat with salt, pepper and onion powder.
add broth, tomato sauce and 1 C water and cook,
scraping up browned bits from bottom of pot. add
dried fruit, then beef, reduce heat and cover and
simmer 30 minutes. add potatoes and cover and
simmer 1 hour. add kale the last 10 minutes .
