In a bowl, beat together eggs, milk, sugar,
vanilla and nutmeg. Place bread slices on a
rimmed baking sheet. Pour egg mixture over
bread and let stand for a few minutes. Turn
slices over and let stand until all egg mixture
is absorbed.
Melt butter on a griddle or in a frying pan over
medium heat. Add a few bread slices at a time and
cook until browned; turn and brown other side.
Place cooked toast on a serving place and keep
warm in a 150 degree oven. Repeat with remaining
slices.
