1 lb beans (15 bean soup mix)

3 cloves garlic, minced
|

1 large sweet oinion, chopped
|

1/2 tsp salt
|
|
1 tsp pepper
|
|
1 1/2 tsp dried parsley
|

1 lb smoked ham, chopped
|
|
6 cups chicken broth
|
|
1 bay leaf
|

Instructions |

|
Sort beans and soak them overnight (or do a quick soak according to package directions). Rinse and place in a crock pot.

To the beans, add garlic, onion, salt, pepper, ham, broth, bay leaf and cloves (optional).
|
|
|
Cover and set the crock pot on low for 8 hours. The beans should be tender and creamy. Remove the bay leaf and cloves before serving.
