1 onion, chopped
|

3 cloves garlic, minced
|

1 1/2 lb. ground turkey
|

2 (4 oz.) cans chopped green chiles
|

1 T. ground cumin
|
|
1 T. dried oregano
|
|
1 t. ground cinnamon
|
|
Ground cayenne to taste
|

Pepper to taste
|

3 (15 oz.) cans cannelini or great northern beans, undrained
|

5 c. chicken broth, low sodium
|
|
2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
|

|
|
|
|

Instructions |
|
|
In a large pot over medium heat, combine onion, garlic and ground turkey and cook until turkey is brown, about 10 minutes. Drain if necessary.
|

Add the chiles, cumin, oregano, cinnamon, cayenne and pepper, cooking for another 5 minutes.
|
|
|
Add the beans and chicken broth to the pot along with the shredded cheese. Stir well and simmer for at least 10 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.
