     Zuppa Toscana

Ingredients
1 lb ground Italian sausage
1 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1 large diced onion
4 tbsp bacon pieces
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
10 cups water
5 cubes chicken bouillon
1 cup heavy cream
1 lb sliced russet potatoes (about 3 large)
 
1/4 bunch kale

Instructions
Sautee sausage and crushed red pepper in pot. Drain excess fat, refrigerate while preparing other ingredients.
In same pot, saute bacon, onions, and garlic for about 15 minutes or until onion is soft. Mix bouillon and water. Add to bacon and book until boiling. Add potatoes and cook until soft (about 30 minutes). Add heavy cream and cook until thoroughly heated. Stir in the sausage. Add kale just before serving.
