Instructions |
1. Mix 3 cups white flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon yeast, and 1.5 cups of warm
water in a bowl until combined. Don't worry if it looks like a mess. Cover with plastic
wrap and prove at room temperature for 8-24 hours. It'll get all bubbly.
2. Use a tin with high sides, and place it in the oven while you preheat to 450 deg
Fahrenheit (232 C).
3. Generously flour the surface (I like to do this in a big, flat rectangular tray so it
doesn't get too messy). Remove the dough from the bowl and put onto surface.
Pull on the dough from its sides and put towards the center to form a ball. Flip it
over and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
4. Cut a piece of parchment paper that will be bigger than your tin. Remove the tin
from the oven and place the parchment paper over the tin. Cut an X onto the
surface of your ball of dough, and then place in the tin on top of the parchment
paper. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for
another 10-15 minutes until top is golden brown. Take out to cool on a wire rack.
Then cut and enjoy! -)
