Beat egg in a shallow oblong bowl. Place bread crumbs in another shallow, oblong bowl. Dip chicken halves into egg, and then into the crumbs, using a spoon to coat the meat on all sides with crumbs. Saute chicken in a large nonstick skillet sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange 1 layer of browned chicken in slow cooker. Pour half the pizza sauce over top. Add second layer of chicken. Pour remaining pizza sauce over top. Cover and cook on low 5 3/4-7 3/4 hours, or until chicken is tender but not dry. Add mozzarella cheese or Parmesan cheese on top. Cover and cook 15 more minutes.
