     Beef Korma YUMMY LF

Ingredients
1/4 cup garlic infused canola oil, or oil and 1 clove crushed garlic
3 Tbs ground almonds
2 tsp grated fresh ginger
1 1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp chili powder
 
1/2 tsp ground mace, optional
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2 lbs beef tenderloin or sirloin, cut in 1/2 inch cubes
1 cup lowfat plain yogurt, divided
1/2 cup light sour cream, divided
cilantro leaves
prepared white rice

Instructions
Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium high heat. Add the almonds, ginger, paprika, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, chili powder, mace (if desired) and cloves; stir for 30 to 60 seconds, until fragrant. Add the meat and toss to coat with spices. Cook, stirring, for a few minutes, until browned on all sides.
Reduce the heat to low and cook for additional 5 minutes. Add half the yogurt and half the sour cream, then cover and simmer gently for 2 hours, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Stir in the remaining yogurt and sour cream and cook until heated through.
Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with white rice.
