Cream butter, gradually mix in sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Sift
together flour, baking soda, and salt; add to above mixture. Mix until
all ingredients are well blended and dough is in a ball form.
Refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight. On a well-floured board, roll out
dough to about 1/4“ thick. Cut out cookies with cutters, place on a
cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 10-15 minutes. Remove cookies to a
wire rack for cooling.
Helpful hints-
• When rolling the dough out, use small amounts of dough at a
time and keep the rest refrigerated.
• Dip cookie cutters in flour then cut out shapes.
• Cookies are done baking when the bottom is light brown.

Butter Cream Frosting
½ cup butter
1 lb. confectionery sugar (2 cups)
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. milk
¼ tsp salt (optional)
Place softened butter in a bowl. Add confectionery sugar, vanilla,
milk, and salt. Mix until smooth. If frosting is too loose, add more
confectionery sugar. If frosting is too stiff, add more milk. Frost
cookies when cool.
