     Toffee Bars and Caramel Frosting

Ingredients
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar - Bars
1/2 Cup Sugar - Bars
1 Cup Shortening - Bars
2 Teaspoons Vanilla - Bars
1/2 Teaspoon Salt - Bars
2 Eggs - Bars
1 Cup Flour - Bars
1 Cup Rolled Oats - Bars
1/2 Cup Butter - Frosting
 
1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar - Frosting
1/4 Cup Milk - Frosting
2 Cups Powdered Sugar - Frosting

Instructions
Bars- Cream thoroughly brown sugar, sugar and shortening. Add eggs, vanilla, and salt - beat well. Add flour and oats; stirr until well mixed. Spread in well-greased 11x7x1 1/2 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Frosting- Melt butter in saucepan, add brown sugar. Boil over low heat for two minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk. Keep stirring until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Cool. Add sifted sugar. Beat well after each addition.
