In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar and water together and set aside to stand. In another bowl, mix milk and vinegar together and set it aside, also. Place flour in bowl, make a hole with your spoon, and add other dry ingredients. Mix slightly and add shortening. Mix mixture with hands. Add milk to mixture (might not need all 2 cups of milk). Add the yeast mixture. Knead in a little more flour to make soft dough that will roll out onto a floured board. Cut out biscuits. Let biscuits stand for about 45 minutes before baking @ 350 in a preheated oven (about 20 minutes--bolden brown).
Raw dough can be kept in refrigerator until needed.
