Mix yeast, 1/2 cup water and half of the sugar, Set aside. In a large bowl stir together the milk, the rest of the sugar, salt, eggs, shortening and 2 1/2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Add the yeast mixture. Mix in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead on a lightly floured board until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes). Place back into a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubles (1 to 2 hours). Punch dough down. Shape dough into desired rolls. Let rise until doubled (30 minutes to an hour). Bake @ 350 for
15 to 20 miuntes.
