Sift flour and baking powder 3 times; cream butter, add sugar, then alternate milk and flour. lastly the whites of the eggs and nuts. Bake in sheet in a shallow pan 30 to 40 minutes.
Icing directions-
Boil sugar, water, and chocolate, stirring. Cover vessel and boil 3 minutes. Uncover and boil until it forms a soft ball when tested in cold water; then beat slowly into the white of egg and continue beating (after extract is added) until thickened sufficiently to spread on cakes.
