Combine beef, egg, tomato paste, yellow mustard, Worcheshire sauce, garlic powder, bread crumbs, and salt and pepper. Mix well and shape into 4 patties.
Heat large skillet to medium heat and add butter. Place meat mixture in skillet and cook 4-5 minutes on each side or until well browned. Remove from skillet.
PREPARE GRAVY-add chopped onion to skillet and reduce heat to medium low. Cook onions until translucent and carmelized @ 15 minutes. Sprinkle 3 Tbsp flour over onions and stir for @ 1 minute. Stir in beef broth and soy sauce. Raise heat to medium.
Add beef patties back to gravy in skillet and bring to a slow boil.

Plan on one patty per person. May want to serve over a bed of egg noodles.
