Cream together shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla extract until fluffy and smooth.
Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
Gently stir in the chocolate chips and the nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheets, allowing room for spread.
Bake at 375 degrees until done.
NOTE- Be careful not to overbake them.
